Let's Roll

This year was most enjoyable to view the festivities at the Long Beach LGBT Pride Event in California.  I realize that some people don't come out to pride, but I want to explain the reasons why I love to go.  For starters, there are lots of people with smiles on their faces, greeting me as I pass along.  Something about hearing a joyous crowd from a distance is most compelling to me.  I delight in going into the midst of a giant party with beyond sexy people.  I'm in!  Next, I remember when the beginnings of the movement in Long Beach, thirty years ago, were generated by those laying the foundations for a thriving community that is blossoming exponentially in our city.  No lie!  It's so fantastic to see ourselves represented all over the town and businesses.  Finally, and maybe most importantly, on a molecular level, it is deeply ingrained in my psyche to gravitate toward keeping my head up on the daily for what continues to be a constant process of coming out in each new situation, and LGBT Pride events gives me a little glow inside my cells and rejuvenates me.  True story.
